DISH Network Covers 2010 Olympics Closing Ceremony with NBC

The 2010 Winter Olympics that was being held in Vancouver, Canada, come to an official end on the last day of February 2010. The closing ceremony took place at BC place in the city of Vancouver, a part of British Columbia, Canada. The stadium has seats for as many as 55000 people. This is one of the most unusual closing ceremonies as in the history Olympics this is the first closing ceremony that took place in an indoor stadium. The opening ceremony for 2010 Olympics was also an indoor event, which, again is unique for the same reason. You can watch this prestigious sports event on DISH Network.

The closing ceremony of 2010 Winter Olympics is choreographed by Jean Grand Maitre, the artistic Director of Alberta Ballet. The entire ceremony was very colorful and was made in accordance to the Olympic closing ceremony protocol.

In the beginning of the ceremony the Canadians came out running with snowboards to start the closing ceremony as the music rock band Inward Eye began to excite the cloud. Speed skater Catriona Le May Doan lighted up the 4th cauldron in the central part of the arena. The ceremony included dazzling performances by Nikki Yanofsky and Neil Young. The song “long May You Run” was performed by Neil Young as the Olympic cauldrons were extinguished followed by speeches and performances that were praised by all. At the end the 2010 Winter Olympics came to an official end with bedazzling fireworks outside the stadium.

In this prestigious sports event the United States tops the medal count with 37 medals, followed by Germany (30 medals) and Canada (28 medals). On the other hand, Canada holds the maximum number of gold medals in the 2010 Winter Olympics including gold medal in hockey. Thus Canada has set a record for winning the highest number of gold medals in this sporting event.
